Good prop for 1980 Enchanter O/B?

Hello, I'm new to the board. I've had a 1st generation 23p Laser on the boat for the last 20 years. I recently noticed that the prop hub is slightly offcenter and causes it to rub on the inside of the exhaust hub. I've been told it wasn't advisable to try to have it repaired. So now I'm prop shopping. I was told by the Checkmate factory that the "TEMPEST" prop would be the way to go.
I've had this boat since 1982 and for the first 5 years of owning it, it was almost always at full throttle. These days it sees full throttle occasionally but most of the time 50mph is more common. My Golden Retriever seems to be more content at that speed----my girlfriend too.:shakehead: So, optimum performance isn't a must. I have a 1986 Merc 200hp and no jackplate although the motor is mounted off the transom about an inch if I remember correctly. I guess I'm looking for something to give me a decent holeshot and decent top end.

I wouldn't be opposed to a used prop if it was in real good condition.

Welcome to the board. I run a Mirage 23p on my Enchanter. I've talked to several people on here and the Tempest Plus is the prop I'm going to go with next. It's supposed to have some bow lifting qualities so you don't have to run with so much trim to get the bow to fly. Mark

You guy's need to take a look at 4 blade props also. The Tempest Plus is a good prop on a 2100 Pulsare, but not on all boats. They do not work very good at all on Starflites.. If you back some, there are several threads on here about this subject. boatman

Hello Mark,

I see your somewhere in northeast Ohio. Where exactly are you? I'm from Austintown (west of Youngstown by about 2 miles). I usually go to Shenango Lake but I've also spent a lot of time at Berlin Lake.
