I have a 1982 Enchanter, it is an i/o. Has anyone swapped one over to an outboard ? How hard to rebalance, etc. Just a thought. My boat is completely gutted. So nothing is to far out. Thanks in advance.

I have never converted a checkmate from I/O to O/B ....but many others i have. was not a problem with balance at all.

That's an easy conversion, plenty of info on that same subject on other forums. Basically a solid 2" transom and knees. You'll need a setback bracket and a jackplate. Look at my Enforcer pictures. I'll find those links for you this afternoon. Btw you're not far from me, I can stop by and help/look at the boat for you.
