Hey fellow Checkmate owners. Always appreciated the styling of checkmates, so when I was looking to get back into boating three years ago I was happy to find a 1991 Pulse closed bow sitting on a trailer by the side of a rural road in South NJ. Former owner put on a 2001 Suzuki (don't know what he was thinking) 200 hp just a couple years prior to my purchase. Regardless, boat was too much of a bargain to pass by. Has run very well for the last three years, but needs some cosmetic work and a new interior. Engine set up is all wrong (only can get 50mph out of it because, among other things, sitting too low on transom). Regardless, it has been running great and lots of fun. Will be working to fix it up and get up to speed (literally) over the next few years. Looking forward to reading the forums to get some suggestions.

Welcome to the board Vic.

Nice to have you aboard.

The factory still makes skins for many models, so if you're looking to replace your interior they might be a good option. :)
