It's been...

...an experience. For various reasons, my Checkmate is now for sale. All I can say is it's not the right boat for me and what I want. The frustration of being left with a blown water pump at the Muskoka rally was the final straw. I got the boat back to the ramp, thanks to a young family and grama, who went way out of their way to tow us back. I dropped the boat off at the 'boat-fixer guy's' place on the way home, subsequently to detour to check out a 311 SR1 Formula. Made a deal on that boat but that fell through on the seller's part...he decided to keep the boat after showing his significant other a great day on the water. So, yesterday, after talking to the boat fixer guy, the spring will see a 35 Fountain Lightening pushed along with a pair of healthily cammed 502's through a pair of XR's.

The Fountain is a resurrection/restoration of a solid older classic. Hull comes free to a good home... my costs are the power, drives and any detailing that is beyond my abilities.

For those who guided and helped along the way, my thanks. Wish everyone of you, the best and happy safe boating
