maxuum 301 vs. 281 Convincor

Can someone please give me the rundown on these models? Im looking at a 1992 281 with twin 502/465Hp, and a 1990 Checkmate 301 maxum with twin 454/365Hp. I know the 28 will be much faster, but it has more hours on it. Im looking for reliabilty and ride, and room. What would be a fair price to pay considering they are both in good shape? Thanks
