Mercruiser vs. Mercury Marine Bravo 1 Prop

Gromet

Member
I learned yesterday from a reliable source that there are considerable differences between a Bravo 1 Prop with a Mercruiser Name stamped on it vs a Bravo 1 with Mercury Marine stamped on it. One would think Bravo 1= Bravo 1 Mercury or Mercruiser - but he was quite confident that the blade thickness and the pitch design was quite different.

Does anyone have comparisons one way or the other?

Don't see how...I just bought a new one, sitting beside me now, says mercury, but anyway a couple of years ago mercruiser was going to slowly make a name change and was just going to be called mercury marine, alot of the newer drives say that vs mercruiser...

The ONLY difference should be the factory part # which is stamped into the hub. That's their main ID for all of their props. There are different styles and types to be sure within all of the different HP ranges and Drives . Each of these has their own unique part # as well as a style that identifes them. ( Such as Alpha, Tempest, Trophy,etc..)

Unless Mercury Propeller has made some radical changes recently that I'm not aware of....
