Need help

I have a 1989 201 spectra with a 1989 johnson 225. I bought a cmc jack plate and 4 inch set back brackets. My problem is where do i start with setting the height? How do i measure off the hull to get a good starting point? And were do i measure from on the motor? Thanks for any help.

Interesting setup you have there. I'm no setup expert, but height is usually referenced from propshaft to pad. You probably want to start 1.5" to 2" below the pad, and tweak it up til you find the sweet spot. Some other guys here should be able to give you better advice.
