I just got my trimate in the water for the first time and i wasnt to impressed just by starting it with a water hose i could tell it had a miss so i went ahead and put some new plugs and along with a carb kit and man what a difference, out of the water... Put the boat in the water and it sounded great put it in gear stalled time after time i finally got it into gear and it did run but it sputtered all through the no wake zone at about 2k rpms, i was finally able to give it some throttle and once i got it over 3k rpms it seemed as though i had an extra motor on the back of it... well i ran it for about an hour and got back to the no wake zone and it was like a new motor we were at about 1k rpms and no miss or sputter for the intire 15 min ride but stall when put in neutral at the dock and then had the same problem getting it to go into gear without stalling again.... I have a 79 merc 115 on a trimate 2 and all i got the boat to do was 42 mph at 4100 rpm with no jack plate and a three blade propeller not sure what pitch, does that speed and rpm sound normal for my set up...
