New from St Louis Area....thinking of a new boat

wheelie

New member
Hello there, new member here, looking to buy a 1992 Checkmate Convincor 251...anyone have any thoughts on these boats? Its stock with 188 hours on it, and in great condition. Has a little wear on the vinyl/upholstery on the engine cover/swim platform area...other than that its in great shape. Has a 7.4/Bravo 1. Thinking of buying it real soon...

Thanks!!!

:welcome:to the site, there's a few guys on here with similar boats, they should chime in soon. do you have any pics of boat so the guys can maybe give you more info.

:welcome: to the forum... I'm of no help with that boat, but like rngrdve said, someone will be along shortly.

Good luck with the purchase!

Welcome to the site!!! Everybody I have talked to that has a 251 absolutely LOVES them!! I have been thinking about upgrading to a convinsor myslef.

Don't have a Convincor myself, but I have a couple of friends that do and they both absolutely love them ---if it's in good shape, you can't go wrong with that boat.

Yup, I have a 253 and I love it. I am also in the St Louis area as well as several others around here.

I am not familiar with the 251, but I think they have a little narrower beam than the 253/ 259/ 270. But, as everyone else has mentioned, they seem to be great boats and the guys that have them love them.

Congrats,
What motor? First I've ever seen with a factory solid swim platform across the back of a 251.
Enjoy there great hulls.

Its got a 454 in it, and its a solid plastic swim platform, bolted the rear... Other ones I looked at were "split"...with each "half" on either side of the outdrive.

454 mag? the splits are the only ones I've seen also on a 251. We had a whole thread on building a single for the 251 a while back.

congrats on the purchase, looks like a clean boat! i love my 251:cheers: i would like to see some detailed pics of the swim platform as well, if you get a chance take some pics and post them up for us:thumb:

That is a great looking 251! We wanna see more pics though....you will find out we are all picture whoooores around here!:bigthumb::cheers:

Now get out there and enjoy that thing!:surf:
