I AM NEW TO THIS SITE, BUT HAVE BEEN A CHECKMATE OWNER FOR 30 YRS , STILL HAVE THE 1977 TRI MATE 2 THAT I BOUGHT NEW IN 1977 . STILL HAS THE 175 MERC FROM 1977 NEVER BEEN APART. STILL RUNS LIKE NEW. THESE ARE GREAT BOATS , THE FLOOR IS STILL SOLID AND THE TRAMSOM IS JUST AS STRONG AS DAY 1 . A SQUIRREL GOT IN THERE OVER THE WINTER AND CHEWED HOLES IN THE ORIGINAL UPHOLSTERY, I GUESS ITS TOO OLD FOR ANY OF THAT TO STILL BE AVAILABLE.LOOKING FORWARD TO CHATTING WITH YOU GUYS

Mike told me that they didn't have parts / upholstery for anything older than 80-81. I've been debating over what to do with mine as well. For now, it's good enough.

Very cool, another trimate owner. Welcome to the board. We are going to need pictures of that time capsule.

Welcome
I have the same problem with the neighborhood cats
If I dont cover my mate they get in and scratch at my seats.
