New Prop for 79 Enchanter OB

Highlander

New member
Replaced my 140hp inline with a V150 with 175 hp heads (merc) and i'm
trying to figure out what size pitch and prop i'll need. already tried a 13 1/4
21 pitch michigan wheel stainless I had for the 140. It slipped like crazy out of the hole but did manage to get around 50 gps. secondly I tried a (appears
to be stock) aluminum 13 3/4 23 pitch prop . it gives a better holeshot but trimming the engine lets it go redline and I only get about 45 gps out of this prop (It appears to be very worn) Does anyone know what an Enchanter
with a V6 ,full tank of gas, and a large deepcycle battery weighs.
I used to get 49.7 gps with the 140 rigged with a cabelas high preformance
13/14 19 pitch prop. I think the V6's gearcase will take up to a 14 1/4 prop.
Havn't looked at any charts yet because I didn't know what the boat weighs.
Any input would be helpfull, (I like to ask questions before spending $$$)

If you are looking for aluminum, try a 14 1/4 x 23 Hustler, or a 13 3/4 x 23 Merc. Light Speed SS. boatman
