New prop

Hey everyone, i am looking at purchasing a new prop for my trimate II with a 115 TOP. I like the Turning Point Legacy -- especially from a price standpoint. Right now i am turning a 21* S/S mercury at between 4900-5000 rpm. Should i stick with a 21 when i go to aluminum or drop down to a 19. I am leaning towards the 19 to have the improved hole shot for skiing. However, i do not know a whole lot about props yet, i imagine that aluminum would have more resistance in water than s/s but also have less mass. I do not want to over-rev my engine. The legacy has venting holes as well.

Thanks

I heard alum blades flex and a 19 alum s equiv to a 21 SS.A thought could be wrong.

With some props, when you go from aluminum to ss, you drop one size. The ss is heavier and stiffer. If you are going to a Turning Point prop, stay with the same pitch. I sold TP's for a couple of years and they are a good prop. The Hustler has exhaust vents and alot of cup. It will perform as well or better than alot of ss props. I put a 23" Hustler on a 2100 Pulsare w/225efi, it ran 68.8gps at 5600rpm's! You could not make it blow out. My boat handled better with that prop than any other. I had a 25" old style Tempest that also turned 5600 and 72 or 73, cant't remember for sure. As you can tell, the Hustler had less slip than the 25" ss.
