Hey all just bought my first CheckMate, A 1978 Trimate II with a 115 Johnson. It seems to be in quite good shape for its age. I live in north central PA where we dont have a lot of water bodies or a real long boating season, I believe this to be the reason for the boats lonjevity. It has real solid floors, the upholstery appears to be origional with only a couple small corner rub throughs. (I think I will remedy this with some corner moldings, as ther were not any from the factory.) The motor fires right up and has excellent compression on all 4 cyls. There is only one spider web that I have found and only a few small gel coat cracks. The former owner claims 55mph, we will see.

If anyone will tell me how to do it I will post some pics, not thay you all havent seen this make and model before, but maybe you can let me know what you think.

Welcome!!
I know what you mean about short boating seasons!!

Enjoy the new boat. 55 sounds like a doable speed.
I can get 52 hoping for 55 with my 115 Merc

Welcome to the board and a trimate owner to boot. Right on.
I would say there are more and more mid 70's being found and saved than some of the other models of that age.
