Oil injection

New member
I was told to remove my oil injection system from my Merc Classic 50 (45hp 4 cylinder) and run premixed 50-1 gas right from the tank. Can some one tell me if this is ok to do or will this hurt my engine in any way? Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Scully Wager.

There may be guys that disagree with me but, I wouldn't remove it from a "fishin motor". There is no need. The ones that have problems are the guys that run over 6500RPM on the V6's. Call me lucky but, I have never had a failure due to oil injection on anything. (Snowmobiles or outboards.) I think there is more of a chance that you mix it wrong or forget to mix the oil.

I never cared for Mercury's "Autoblend" though.
