Old evinrude serial number

happy

Active member
Hi all. I was just blessed (given to me)with an old looper looks to be a 150ish may be 175 not sure, there is no I.D. tag on the mounting bracket. Is there anyway to find out what the serial number is did they stamp it in somewhere else? Or did I just inherit a motor that I cannot do anything with? I'm in Texas, I cant title it without a serial number or sell it without a title. Thanks for your help in advance.

There is a serial number on the block somewhere, I sold a johnny 200 and I took a scribing off of it for a title before the sale. I cant remember where at on the johnny-rude but I know the mercs have a aluminum plug on the block with the serial number stamped into it. I found it on 3 mercs, called mercury and gave them the #' and they told me exact model number, first owner, date made, and also the date and where it was sold. From there, I took a pencil scribing to the BMV with the info and they issued me a title.

Not sure if texas will issue a title off a scribing or digital picture and bill of sale, if they won't, send info to me and I will get you a ohio title and send it back to you :thumb:
