I guess I'd have to go with a Stream. Preferably like the one JW used to own.

I know this is not on the list, but I would have to go with An Eliminator, Daytona 25. I looked at one recently, and of coarse, ordered a Checkmate. Being in my early 30's, I have a lot of boating left and I hope the Combs family keeps up the impecable work (If you are reading Kip, remember these words when you are building my boat) HA-HA

I voted Allison. I like a challenging V-bottom and they are my next choice after Checkmate. Problem with Allison is lack of room (no bow-rider) and high prices. Advantage of Allison is top speed, no wood construction, and re-sale value!!

Remember, those composite boats rot too. Wood is a great way to build a boat for strength if done properly but, many do not do it properly.

I would have to go with allison also. A grand sport would be nice. But price was a factor.

I am very glad I bought my mate, ran all summer with basicly just the fiberglass holding it together. That say's something for the quality of the hull.

I see that we have a vary of results. I chose the hydrostream because I have always liked them, next to Checkmates. I have been around 87-89 MPH in a Hydrostream Venus with a stock 225 Pro Max with a Lightning ET. The top speed for that boat is 95.3 MPH. I still wouldn't mind taking one of those 180 MPH Skaters, but thats really out of my price range!

Checkmates may not be the fastest boats on the water, but they are the nicest looking!
