Owner of 1975 trimate 2

EdG

New member
I just purchased a 1975 trimate 2. $700 got me the boat and trailer. The trailer has been completely rebuilt, new everything. The boat is in great shape. Gell coated a year ago. Looks great just dirty. Seats are all redone and need to be cleaned. Floor and transome are solid as a rock. Could use new carpeting and a bunch of TLC. The boat is missing the badges for the sides. Wondering if anyone knows where I could get them, or if I can get them. There are two metal brackets on the top back. About over the battery on each side. I cannot figure out what they are. If anyone knows please share the info. The brackets stick up from a flat plate, 4 screws hold the plate on, with a ball on top. They stick up about 3 inches from the deck. I'm going to put my 90 merc on it for now, I will eventually get a 150 for it and really see its potential. If anyone can help with my questions I would greatly appreciate it.

I can finally cross this off my life list.

hi there . I'm a trimate 2 owner myself . the mounts you are talking about sounds like they were there for a ski pole at one time . my mate has a 150 hp inline six merc and she runs about 56 mph . post some pics I'd like to see what she looks like . mine is red and black . what color is yours ?

Thanks.

:cheers:I was thinking its a ski pole holder too, but cant find anything in the floor for the pole mount. I'll figure it out eventually. My boat is red and white. I'll get more pictures up soon. Your trimate is beautiful, black and red is nice. Thanks for the help. Hopefully, weather permiting, can get to digging around in it, and clean it up.

There sure has been alot of trimates surfacing on here lately glad to see it. Will what are you running for a prop?

Have a couple more pics in an album. Check them out. Would love to get this boat cleaned up and in the garage, but have discovered bees in it. If it stops raining here, I should get this done, Killing me leaving her in the rain. Thanks for the pic help.

I ran a few different props but I was the happiest with a 21p . because we ski and pull some wild tubes and the 21p just seemed to give me the best torque right out of the hole . and I went back to a aluminum prop for weight reasons . the motor revs up alittle faster with the aluminum prop. I had a stainless 23p and got good top end out of it but just didn't have the jump out of the hole when trying to get some one on a slalom ski .

Have you tried the Hustler alum. props? boatman

No I havent . But I did see something that caught my eye . I found a 4 blade 21p (comp prop) its called its made of composite. And its very light . And also only cost 80.00 bucks . So if it gets damaged you dont feel so bad lol .

I cant wait to try my boat after the floor is done and I have the nose cone. I have yet to do any testing with the jackplate. Alot of major things going on at once new floor pressure gauge nosecone tach and jackplate. Will we need to meet this summer some time and boat together!

Yeah we can do that . My buddy has a 77 Trimate II . He's a member on here too . 77orangetrimateII is his screen name . We can get him out too and have 3 trimates out that would be awesome . I have his boat all in pieces lol. But I will have it back together soon as all his motor parts come in from the u.p.
