Hi everyone, I need some advice here. My friend has a predictor with a 115 tower of power Merc on it. No jackplate and the motor was 5.5 to 6 " below the pad. He wanted more speed and a little less chinewalk without giving up any acceleration out of the hole. The boat is going low to mid fifties on the speedo. The motor is stoch with a stainless mirage prop on it, I'm not sure what pitch right now. I told him to raise the motor up so the propshaft is 3.5" below the pad. He called me after he tried this and said that it totally killed his holeshot and did not help his speed. What gives? I will try and find out the pitch of the prop from him, maybe its too small? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If wants both. He needs 2 things, A Hyd. Jack with More Power.
How much more performance can you really expect out of an In-line 6 115
Sorry for you friend, Steve

Thanks guy's ! I was just surprised that going up to 3.5" below the pad killed his holeshot.I'm going to fix it next year by taking him for an 80mph plus ride in my 17' Panther. That should do it!LOL
