Pulled the powerhead!!

I pulled off the powerhead today without breaking or destroying anything. I did however discover I have a really bad wire harness and plug engine side. Now I just need to pull off all the components so its just block(carbs, electronics and so on) and off it goes to wayne.

Well when ya pull those its much easier to do with all the cowls still on, ever rebuilt an in line 6? You may get a shocker when you go to re assemble it with 6 rods and pistons on the crank............

Hes sending it out to be rebuilt . All he will have to do is bolt every thing back on and reinstall the motor . Yea you do need special Mercury ring compressors to put it back together but they are still a very simple motor ... But when you send it out and have some one else do it you dont have to worry about it :D :D
 
Thanks will for clearing that up. I had to work late today and it took 1 1/2 to get home when its normally a 30 min drive. Yes Wayne Canino is doing the rebuild I just pull, box, and ship. I hope to one day do my own rebuilds but with school and work I just dont have the time. I believe JW that the correct question is when will the water be ready for me?
 
I was going to go pick up my other inline and get it back here to get it ready to ship it out but old man winter had other plans ... Every one ive talked to said wayne does great work and at a really good price . He's going to be the one to rebuild mine here shortly ....
 
I hope it all works out for ya, let me know when you are going to on the Saginaw River this summer.

When I send mine im going to crate it just to be safe . I told Wayne I just dont trust sending it down in the box . I hope it makes it there and back in one piece .
 
It made it in one piece. Wayne said its one of the worst he has seen on cyl#3 so he is going to machine it. I was told by Kary that he freshened it up with new pistons and such when he put it on my boat but Wayne seems to think that motor was never opened before.

It was so bad he had to get it machined on that cyl. One of the worst he has seen. I just need to pay him and I will be reassembling.
