refreshing alpha 1 outdrive

General Question: I live in the Northeast and have an 87 senator, 300 hp, alpha one outdrive. Last June, I had outdrive gear oil, rings, gaskets, impellor replaced-do I have to do this every June? Boat is used about 20 times annually...thanks

Yes on the oil, but on everything else, you should be fine. Some recommend doing a water impeller every season as it is cheap insurance but I do mine every 2 years. I have never had one come out with any signs of wear after 2 years or I would do it every year.
We know there is horror stories about them not getting replaced and coming apart and blocking the cooling passages. Jeff (merc245) is dealing with that on his boat right now.
