how do i do it? it looks like the throttle/shift arm has to come off first, but having trouble with it. i figure it is best to ask, before i break it. thanks, curt

well, i found 1 set screw, it is removed along with a destroyed cover plate, and all the other bolts that hold the 2 halfs together and to the boat. it is still part of the boat. what am i doing wrong?? help. thanks, curt.

lol, I learned this. There are 2 set screws.

I hope that helps.
I can see the one that holds the lever on. I had to tighten it up this past summer now my idle button wont press in.

You know what my project is before spring:pissed:

there are 2 screws that hold the center of the handle on
unhook the trim wires

take out the allen screw in the bottom of the handle

remove handle

then you can take out the screws that hold the control box on

daren

#%&(^##@ i cant find any other screws, "throttle only" sticker is junk now, as i thought the screws might be under there. i may have to bow my head in defeat and leave the controls in the boat.

The control box is mounted behind the fiberglass of the boat , and this classic 3000 bezel is on the inside of the boat?
This bezel should have screws that fasten ot to the control box through the fiberglass after you get the forward reverse handle off.

Did you see if there is a set screw?
Did you pull the center button and see if there is a bolt through?
This is kinda bafflin me.
Maybe I will have to trip up there next weekend and see whats up....or you could take a sawzall, cut the controls out and i will fix it when I buy the boat....
BTW, what colors are on the boat.....looks like white gold copper and gray. Which of it is the metal flake?
