seebold vs CHECKMATE

Just po'd the guy who is selling a 21 seebold on ebay which poped up on scream and fly (boats for sale 20' and over). He stated a seebold is a better boat than a checkmate. I sort of challenged his reasoning, like who still builds 21' outboards. Also, no way a 21 seebold runs 80-85 with a stock 200 merc. ploped on the transom. Two things that run my chimes, boats that are "just like and spped boats"

hey that boat might run 80 with no interoir, lifejackets, anchor, fire ext.,stereo.nobody can bull sh-t a true boater with made up la la land speed quotes. that crap aggrevate the hell out of me.

They were a pretty good boat and remember that compared to the 20+ft Checkmate (Enchanter) of the time was about 800lbs heavier than the Eagle, which puts it about the same weight as the new Pulsares. Not to say that it can or cannot run with the Pulsare it would run pretty descent at 1500lbs.

looked at one almost bought it. v21 big speed boat with lots of room. floor rotted + strunk. this made me stay away from it.cool looking black plastic windvisor with 200 hp. I research this company went out of business , think the one builder is making 15 ft tunnel hulls that go scary fast. A lot of see bolds are racing fast style hulls like checkmates.

I believe the Seebold bottom was popped from the Enchanter. Seebold Eagles were produced by Tim not Billy or Mike seebold (if my memory serves me right). None the less, 80+ w/ a 200 Merc sounds very optimistic.

I got to go with you on this COOP, i think that is a very nice looking boat. I was comparing it to my starflite it looks like it would be lighter in my oppinion. It has no built in coolers and one piece windshield. Seems it my run faster as well it does have a pad. And i love the teak swimstep instead og the fibergalss ones i have. I think 80 plus maybe a stretch but i do think with 10" -12" jackplate and some slight motor work 80 isnt out of the relm. Seems like a great deal to me, a checkmate not exactly a greatr looking boat with lots of potential for sure:bigthumb: JUst my 2 cents, Aaron
