Snap-in carpet - any recommendations?

Did a search already. Several older posts recommending going through Checkmate, snapincarpet, and matworks. Just curious if anyone has ordered one recently? Not sure I'm completely "feeling" doing a template and sending it in for a custom order. Figure going directly through Checkmate might be the easiest but not necessarily the cheapest route.

Anyway, please post up if you have some input. This is for a 2400 BRX. The boat has not had a carpet kit installed yet so I'd have to install the snaps in the liner as well. Any input on that install would also be appreciated!!

Thanks!

PBJ

Make a template so you know it fits the way you would like. I picked up my boat and the first carpet came in the mail as it was not ready at that time. It was way off, possibly a mix up on the boat model when they ordered it.(they dont make them in house at checkmate). I made templates and sent them back with the carpet. I had mine made with no snaps and it stays down with the bow cover on. It works for me as the only time I put it in is for dinner or concerts on the river. I did have it in one time without the bow cover and it wanted to lift at the front so it would need some snaps for that.

Appreciate the advice!! What company did you go through? Or was that through Checkmate?

It was whoever Checkmate used at the time. I do not remember even though I mailed it directly to them...sorry

I would check into the rubber backed "lay-in" carpet. That stuff doesn't move when its down and you don't have to drill any holes in your floor! I just re-did the carpet in my boat, and if I didn't already have snaps in the floor, this is exactly what I would have used. Also, even if you do go with snaps, spend the extra money and get the 40oz carpet. The difference is worth every penny!! I love mine!!

Thanks for the replies folks! I'm going to give Corinthian a call today and see what they have to offer. Great find!!

I'll certainly follow up with whomever I go with and give a full review!

I epoxied the snap heads to the deck (no holes), made paper patterns , made the carpet and then installed the snaps. Two years with no problems. I didn't need half the amount of snaps that I installed. More details in the link below. Page 24 :bigthumb:

I prefer "lay-in" carpet over "snap-in" if you can swing it. You can make your template with tight tolerances around seat bases etc and the rug will stay put if the guy making it knows what he's doing. Roll it up and throw it in the ski locker or truck when towing for piece of mind. Less screw holes in a boat is a good thing.

I used Snap in Carpet.com. John is the guy in charge and they did great work for my Sonic. They will send you a template kit and you send that back to them. They make what you want exactly as you have layed it out. They ship w/o snapsintalled butdo supply you the snaps. I never used the snaps because the carpet is very snug and does not move at all. Even at close to 80 mph.

I used Corinthian. Mailed a template to them. Carpet turned out awesome. They also loaned me a snap installation tool at no cost. I decided against using snaps because the carpet fits so well it doesn't need them. I would definitely go with the 40 oz.
