Stern light ?

My 82 eluder has a stern light socket that has been broken . I am trying to find a replacement for the factory piece THe attwoods at West marine are not the same size as they arew 7/8" to short . Mine is 3 7/8 " from center to center and the 2 holes in the rear are 7/8" apart . Anyone know where to find one of these ?

Sorry, forgot.

You also need to know the degree of rake of the base as they vary. Three screw or 4? They are usually pretty generic, one base fits many different poles. You just have to find the one that is close to yours.

Post a pic of it so we can see it. I had to order many new pieces for my antique boat. It is a 64 and I found the exact base that I needed. They make the same parts for years.

I was able to clean up and paint the socket on my '79 Eluder, I'm pretty sure it was a Perko (I'm positive the bow lights were Perko, I bought a new one for that and it fit perfectly). I'm guessing yours is probably the same. Check at iboats or BoatBandit.

My Starflite had a Perko bow light and a Atwood stern light.
I don't know if the factory did a mix or match type of assembly.
The holes in the deck where never changed since new so I thought they did a mix.

I just changed the base on my Eluder a few weeks ago and I originally bought an attwood thinking it would fit and the measurements were out about the same as your describing, I took it back and got the perko and it was an exact match.

My old light pole would work in the new base but it was very loose and would flicker on and off while driving so I ended up buying a new perko light pole also.

I checked out the 1059 and the 2 screws are on the wrong side of the base . Mine has 1 screw in front and 2 in the rear . Here is a picture .

What degree rake does your broken base have? Have you been able to find a brand name on yours or a part number?

Does the base tilt toward the two holes or away from them? Can't tell from the picture.

yeah your right, sorry for the wrong info, I looked at it quick and didn't notice that the two holes were on the other side in the 1059, I just went out to the garage and found the package and it is the one in fig 1060, part #1060PBODP
5 degree rake, my old one looked exactly like yours.

No you guys got me on the right track and the two holes are forward on my boat . I have plenty of room under the base so either rack would work .

I went to west marine and tried to find one and was refered to a guy who has a used parts place on the south shore of Clear lake . I walked in at closing and found a chrome base for $5 . I swapped the lid and soldiered the connections with die electric grease under heat shrink . All is good with that step in the project . Pics coming .
