Taller Cabin Door

I've been toying with the idea on a way to make to cabin door taller. Wondering if it would be possible to cut out part of the dash above the door to make a lift up hatch then convert to a swing open door or if that would take away too much strength. Just want to guage other's thoughts before i take saw to fiberglass.
