temp. question

merc t-stats are usually 140 - 160 - most new boats i ran in recent years were in the 170 range.

the reason i ask is because i have a 330 hp in the boat now that runs at about 120 but i am upgrading to a jasper 454 mag. i wanted to know what it should run. so thanks for the info.

grover,

You have a PM. I answered your PM before I checked this thread. The information you posted here gives me some of the particulars I needed. Since your engine is an older 330 hp 454, I can be almost certain, it has a carb. If so, that engine should have a 140* t-stat.

I need information on your new Jasper engine. Carb or EFI? Aluminum or steel heads? Closed cooling? If not, fresh or salt water? Compression ratio?
