does any one know what the top gps speed for my boat is supposed to be? It is all stock with a 6.2l in it. the best i can get is 58.7 gps. with my 3 blade mirage plus for got what pitch it is, but it revs right to 5100. and 53 with my 4 blade rev 4 21p. before it over revs. just wondering if i was in the ball park.

58-60 sounds real good in a 24 foot zt with a stock 6.2 5300 rpms and 5100 sound a bit high to me from a stocker. You need to find out the max rpms of your engine. I try to prop mine 200 rpms under max rpms of my engine.

just looked up redline for 6.2 it is 5000k. glad i didn't spin it to 5500k like i thought it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanxs for the reply. guess it's time for the procharger!!!!!!!

Your numbers sound right. Do you know the HP of your engine?

I am still tweaking my ZT 230 equipped with a newer 6.2L. The 6.2L engines made starting in 2002 are rated at 320 HP with a 5,200 redline which might be more than your 6.2L.

I am getting 59.4 MPH on GPS at 4,850 RPM with a 21 P Mirage (1.5 drive ratio). Boat is loaded with gear, gas and 1 passenger. The Revolution 21P gets 4,800 RPM and 58.4 MPH on GPS.

Both tests were done in calm conditions. I expect 4 - 6 MPH more with a lighter load and in chop that is 6 - 10 inches where the steps under the boat will kick in.

The top true speed I have seen posted for ZT 230 and ZT 240 with the newer 6.2L is 64 MPH.

I will update once I have done a few more tests.
