Transom Drain

2015VXR

Member
Im installing a new transom into a 83 sportfire. Do I stay with the original drain setup or go with the garboard drain?

Thanks

The original were prone to issues if the transom flexed. can you delete the well like a pulsare

I switched to the garboard drain. Once installed I knew there was no way the plug would come out, without me removing it. Also I never trusted a good water tight fit/seal between the sleeve and the wood. I never reinstalled the 3/4" plywood that the factory used to mount the sleeve. I built that area up with 1/2" of glass.
