Trip on the Hudson and around Manhattan, Sept 6th

An awesome (and I mean AWESOME!) day today running the Hudson and East rivers to take in the sights of NYC with old and new friends.
4 Checkmates - sim, chuckb, jross and myself. The kids had a great time and mother nature gave us a range of weather and conditions to run in.
All good and I got to run my Starliner like I was offshore racing! :bounce: :thumb:

We didn't get the 2014 Lady Liberty photo, but to make up for it, here's a small sample of the photos that were taken by my collection of cameras.

Make sure you have comfortable seat and a drink...this will take some time......

We (my wife & I) enjoyed looking at your pictures from yesterdays Manhattan trip. It looked like a really neat outing. Being from the Philadelphia area we have used the Staten Island ferry many times to visit Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty but never have done it the way you did yesterday. After seeing your pictures we are giving some thought to joining your group if you do this trip again in the future. Our only concern is that our Spectra 171 might be a little small for the kind of water you experienced yesterday on the Hudson.

No, you're good. Just make sure you have PFD's.
My buddy Ray, a former Vietnam landing craft pilot and I did it the morning of hurricane Earl. 12 foot seas in a 16 foot Predictor and we were scared pissless.
He went into the back seat with a PFD on and we skipped the lunch break..
It looks worse than it is.:rof:
It's all GOOD!!!!!
Oh, and needless to say, we'd love to have you. And we look out for each other.

You are definitely more than welcome to join us anytime! Watch out for any future posts in the Liberty Mates section.
Also - for your info, some of us run the Delware between Trenton and Philly, so if you are interested in meeting up anytime, we can PM you here as we don't always post the notice in advance here.
You might say our relationships that began on this fine forum are flourishing offline ;-)

I think we need to make this Manhattan trip at least an annual event for the Liberty Mates group here.

AT LEAST!!! But without the half a thousand buck lunches. (Mo Fo))
Tell FIL (who is so cool!) that we shall dive someday.
