VELOCITY STACKS

ANYONE EVER TRY THE VELOCITY STACKS , GOT A MERCURY 200 HP AND WAS WONDERING IF THESE ARE WORTH THE MONEY .

Are we talking about a carb motor? If so I tried em out. They flow better than the stock airbox but there is nothin to stop the motor from injesting whatever happens to fly by. You'll have to bump up the jets in the carbs too. They look cool on the front of the carbs though, and the open induction sounds good. On my boat the powerhead is mounted inboard with no cowl, so you get a lot of noise. I don't think that the stacks will make a big difference on a stock motor. They can be a useful component of a larger buildup of a performance motor.

There have been several discussions on Scream and Fly about this and the consensus from people who have actually done a careful comparison is that velocity stacks are a waste of time.

yea i kinda didnt think it would be worth it but i was thinkin so figured get some other opinions thanks for the responses

I think this is one of those stage deals. A single piece isn't gonna do much for you. If this peice is put together with others then it helps. You need to put the whole puzzel together to see results.
