"Wanted" 23P Laser II

New member
I just bought a 1972 MX16 Checkmate and looking for a 23P Laser II in good shape that will fit a 1986 2.0 135 Merc Black Max. I believe it has the same shaft as the 150,175 and 200's if my research if correct.

PM me or respond here Thanks,

Cap

I might not be remembering 100% correct, but I'm thinking the even numbered Laser II props are for the small diameter case, and the odd number pitch props are larger hub for the standard gearcase. If you have the standard 2.0 135 black max, then you're probably ok. Pretty sure that was the standard sized case. The XR2, XR4, and most of the earlier XR6 150's need the even number props as they came with the smaller diameter case. I've got a well used 23" in my garage that I used to run on my 4.3 LX Alpha drive 183 Persuader. I wouldn't call it good shape any more, but my standards are much higher than most. If you were close to SW Michigan I'd let you borrow it to see how the 23" ran on your setup, but I'm not ready to give it up.

Thanks JW, I believe your right. I am not at home right now so I am having someone go measure my existing prop hub so I can confirm that before I buy a prop
