wet sanding??

I am looking at brightening up my boat what is the best way? its an 83 just getting dull looking from sun. wet sanding? what else.

sometimes wet sanding is not necessary, just a good buff job, use a good rubbing compound to start, and finish with a good finishing glaze
or polish, run your buffer at about 1200-1400 rpm and keep you pad wet. Good luck
