2003, 26 ZT, 496mag 375 hp
stock with straight exhaust. took the quick and quit out and put a set of tips from CP. other then that its stock.

the boat seems wo run flat i think. i trim it up it goes faster and faster, but then i hit the rev limiter and thats it. 60 mph on gps. thats all she has in her.
i was looking into the hydro props. they recomended the 4 blade 25 pitch any one have any info for me? id like to do it right the first time.
thanks allot.
ps the boat is salt water used, and i love the 4 blade for out of the hole and cruz so dont want to give that up for a little on top with a 3 blade. i just want to find the right 4 blade for it.
any help would be great.
thanks allot
any other tricks would be great as well as this is my first "speed boat" i had a 9 foot inflatable with a 6hp to start (age 4to 15) i then got an 18 foot welcraft center console with 120 johnson on it (age 16-19) i then got a 2000 20' stingray with a 4.3 in it ( age 20-24) i then used my fathers checkmate and 25 outlaw (age 24-27) now im 28 and just bought this boat. so im new to tweeking the boats, but not new to boating itself

thanks for any info

Noyzee, you fail to mention what prop you are currently using. I would suggest a Bravo One 22-24 pitch. You need a good bow lifting prop to get the bow out of the water so you don't overtrim the boat. The Bravo is good at carrying the nose.

contact "boatman4021" on this forum and he can sell you a prop.....

if not "pm" me and i will help you out:bigthumb:

sorry, i run a 24 pitch 4 blade bravo.
i was looking at having bblades do me up a prop, see if they can get me some mph

if you are running a 24 bravo 1 and hitting the rev limiter try a 26 bravo 1, I have one on ebay right now...as stated before they carry the bow well and work about the best...Rob

I tried a four blade hydromotive on my ZT230 with a 496HO and it did not perform as well as a Bravo One four blade. There was less bow lift - the bow felt glued to the water. I would try the 26 Bravo, get off the rev limiter, and then get it labbed if you need to pick back up a couple hundred rpm. You must be running a 1.65 drive ratio to get those numbers with a 24 pitch now. Theres alot of discussion about removing turbulators from the exhaust risers in the 496s over on OSO. I did it and picked up almost 2 mph. I put them back in though because they're there to collect condensation on cool-down and decided it was not worth the risk. My fastest prop was a labbed mirage plus, a good 3 mph faster than the Bravo one, but definitely a compromise in handling.

I have a 24 Bravo 1 on my convincor right now and I don't think that gives enough bow lift at all. Mine will not carry the nose and it always seems like it wants more trim than is safe for my outdrive. I am going to try a Hydromotive Quad IV-X which is a four blade similar to the Bravo 1 but is tooled for added bow lift.

my boat feels the same way. kind of flat and needs allot of trim and then hits the limiter.
i spoke with brett at bblades. and he had some ideas. 26 pitch with some lab and cup work bravo. so im going to try that and see what happens. i looked into hydro, but i was told by a couple guys on OSO that the hydro doesnt work well with the hull on the mates. so this took me to bblades.
once im in and rolling i will post results

as for turbulators. i think i need to leave them in. i keep the boat in the water full time, and its salt water. so i think its best to leave them in.

i did swap to a full open exhuast and picked up about 1mph

that's the same Hydro I tried and found that it had less bow lift than the Bravo prop. Might run different on a Convincer though.

got to test my bblades prop. it worked ok, picked up 1mph but under reved allot. so i sent it back for $50 in shipping, took 3 weeks to get it back tested it again yesterday and it didnt pick up any speed, gained about 100 rpm and lost all the bow lift. still down 200+ rpm and lost bow lift. im hoping they will work with me here. im in it for 1,000 bucks now with no gains and loss of handling.
