I FOUND A 1999 YAMAHA VMAX 225 FOR MY 2100 PULSARE. ENGINE LOOKS SUPER CLEAN. ANY WORDS OF WISDOM ON THIS MOTOR? GOOD/BAD CHOICE, ANYONE ELSE RUNNING SOMETHING SIMILAR???IT DOES HAVE A 20" MID.

I FOUND A 1999 YAMAHA VMAX 225 FOR MY 2100 PULSARE. ENGINE LOOKS SUPER CLEAN. ANY WORDS OF WISDOM ON THIS MOTOR? GOOD/BAD CHOICE, ANYONE ELSE RUNNING SOMETHING SIMILAR???IT DOES HAVE A 20" MID.

I run a Yamaha ProV 200, I love the motor. I've run a few Yamis and have had greate luck. I'd love the 225 VMax on my Enchanter.
Anouther good thing about the Yamaha Is you can run Merc props on them, Thats a greate advantage when dialing in and looking for the perfect prop.
What kind of $ are you looking at for it.

IT'S ON EBAY STARTING AT $7500. NO BIDS ON IT YET!! IT IS ALSO LOCATED 20 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE!! WILL MERC 3000 CONTROLS WORK WITH THE YAMAHA???

Yamaha wiring harness is diffrent from Merc, You will want to see if you get the controlls and gauges with the motor. It's not hard to find take off controlls from a dealer, but you need a factory tach to to monitor the remote oil tank level, the last tach I bought was around $375. Also check if the remote oil tank and wiring come with the motor, anouther exspense if you have to get one later.
