ZT-218 or Pursuader

Hello Everyone!

I am in the process of purchasing my first Checkmate! Dad owned one growing up though.

I am buying a 2004 ZT-218 from what I can tell. However I am having trouble finding much info on the ZT-218. Did checkmate change the name for the Pursuader to the ZT around 2004? I am confused with all the different names. Anyone have information on this hull!?

I have been hunting for a 2100 Pulsare for about three years but this boat is too clean to pass up and happens to be just down the road from me! Pros / Cons over this boat vs a 2100 pulsare?

Outboard vs inboard,

Outboards are lighter and less work to maintain(less work means less money and this is very noticeable)

The 2100 is a little longer boat with a little more room because the 218 includes the built in swim platform in the length so more like a 20 footer and the engine bay takes room away from the interior also.

Lighter means faster as well, but it also often means louder when underway. Once off idle, all the Merc 2 stroke engines are very loud. The Verado 4 strokes are quiet, but you don’t find too many on 2100’s.

Checkmate made a lot of 2100’s over the years and they are popular, so they should be easier to find, but the demand keeps the prices up a little.

The weight of the inboard will be a softer more pleasant ride and it will be quieter too.
