Rooster Vid

Took my Pulsare out today to test some props. Still have not found the right one yet. Today i tryed a Custom 27 over/thru hub 4 blade prop from a local prop shop and a 26 Tempest. The 27 wasnt getting enough rpms but drove great and i dont like the way the tempest was handling.

They did throw up some mean rooster tails though, lets see if i can get this to work.

Sweet vid but fits better in the "Checks in Action" forum.

I assume the over/through hub you are referring to is a smaller hub on the prop...is this correct? How is the holeshot with this style of prop? I have a small hub 4-blade and if I go WOT while planing off it will blowout every time!

The over/thru hub does have a smaller hub. I dont really know a lot about it, if the design is changed at all for the exhaust. The guy at the prop shop just gave it to me to try out. The holeshot seemed good (much better then the tempest i tried today), and i didnt experience any blowout even when i left my lift up when taking off. But this prop was a 1 of a kind custom made, ill see if i can get a pic next time im at the boat.

I didnt really read through all the sections when i posted, just picked the first on i thought it would fit in. Now in hindsight the "checks in action" probably would be a better spot.

Fourstroke on a speedboat???I am confused....LOL

Good vid keep posting..interesting to see how the 4 stroke does,,How is your fuel milage??

LOL, thanks Merc245. I love my engine. Its unique and economical. I know its never going to be the fastest checkmate but the baja i saw last weekend witnessed that it can still get up and go.

As far as fuel effiecency i never measured it exactly but its about 6mpg. I have never used more then $55 in gas in a day. Two weeks ago i traveled about 80 miles and used 15gallons in 1 to 3ft waves. A big part of that was a 28 mile high speed run across lake michigan from Gary, Indiana to Navy Pier in Chicago.

One more video for you from out on the river last saturday.

Hello???? Is this think on? That is one quite honda. i would be griding the starter all the time. LOL

Dont tell anyone, but i pulled it out of the water once with it still running... Thats was when i first got it and wont make that mistake again, but it didnt overheat and took off the lower and pump looked good as new.

Hopefully next weekend the weathers going to cooperate and i can find someone to get out on the Calumet River with me and i can take some pictures and shoot some more video.

Thats pretty funny, I came across an apx. 40 foot center console with 4 merc 275 4 strokers docked at Kelly's Island out in Lake Erie. I would not of known that all 4 were Idling if not for thier water streams coming out.

I wouldn't know what to do, after 13yrs of putting up with a 32/1 mix and relieved factory exshaust merc motor. That has to really NICE and it looks like you get about twice the milage that I do too !
