March 2008's Boat of the Month Nominations

March 2008 Boat of the Month Nomination (Please Choose Two)

  • Total voters
    34
  • Poll closed .
Hey Old Hickory, When can we nominate your boat? Im sure that's going to be a winner when its finished

BP,

The rate that things are going I'll be lucky to have it done by july. i'm guessing july at the earliest; september or october at the latest; and thats if I bust my chops. If the project takes me thru this summer I may slow it down a bit and just try to get her done for summer of 09:)

Hey, I can't even find the time right now to pick up my motor; I'm hoping to get it in about 2 weeks.

Hick

BTW... if mine can't be nominated now.. lets nominate yours; very nice!

you guys getting all hot and bothered by the yellow 251 kill me.
(I like it to) but the same pic from a different angle has been
in the poll for two months - the pic was taken at 07 poker run
so no copywrite problems there - just proves this botm poll
is a popularity contest amongst members!:irked: - lol.. come on
sawcat, let the scratching and clawing begin - hail to the
little boats and outboard setups! How do you like me now:sick:lol..

According to the photographer himself; the pic was taken at the "2006 RPBA Jammin' on the James" And yes there is a problem; that pic cannot be downloaded for free from the photographer. If you want a legal copy it must be purchased. It's his photo to sell; hence the "copywrite" logo. All the pics I've seen thus far are clearly "Randy Nuzzo's"; I don't know Randy Nuzzo, but I'm sure he would love the publicity. But, I also know he dosn't want to lose the revenue either; since he took the risk of getting in the helicopter and taking the shots. I believe a crew lost their lives not too long ago, off the coast of Florida, doing a similar shoot for a magazine.

The exception to this is if the owners of the boat have a legal copy(which I'm pretty certain they do:D) and submitted the photo. Or, Randy either gives his permission or submits the photo himself. In any of these cases it would be "okay" to use the photo. I don't think Chris' reluctance to use the photo some how demonstrates proof of a conspiracy by the members.

And last, polls and votes are, by their very nature a........uhhhh......hmmmm........oh!........ a popularity contest!:D

So bro...take a seat; have a brew:cheers and enjoy the view:popcorn:, cause lifes too darn short:D

is that your boat Big Red? If so you'll see it's twin at Lake Norman "spring splash" we are coming as is my buddy with his Persuader that looks damn
near dead on the pic you submitted above!

Fellas,

Copywritten images and content cannot be used without the owners permission. ;)

I realize it's the internet, and some surfers think, that if you see "it" on a page it's free to take - but it isn't the case.

It's no different here. If someone copied an article or image from here and took it elsewhere without our permission I could make a claim - and have done so on occassion. ;)

Something else that many people don't know, is that many images on the internet are marked and have tracking data contained in them. So if they suddenly get used elsewhere, the rightful owner gets notified where the image is being used and is in a position to act on the enfringement.

It's the same if you see an article somewhere and cut and paste it without permission. Again, the rightful owner can make a claim.

So the bottom line is that only images free for use can be entered in the BOTM.

Love that boat

Big Red,

What size is that boat again.

That is one sweet shot, of a sweet boat.

I am jealous!

Popularity my @$$, I don't even know the guy, but I can tell a nice boat when I see one.

Big Red,

that is one sharp check. I've seen several shots of your boat; both pics and videos; but none make me appreciate it more than that aerial.:thumb:

Dogschool,

no offense taken now; however, many of us may not understand the relationship you have w/ other members and that will take awhile. I certainly couldn't get away w/ an agressive post, cause I'd be labeled a troll. :D thanks for the heads up though; I'll keep it mind when you start jackin' w/ someone in the future;)

I am interested in understanding. Please share:thumb:

I have 3 awesome airial shots of my boat from the helicopter. In all 3 stages of exceleration. Boat pix are out of FL and goes around to all lakes and shoots photos. I just got lucky on a 80 degree day during the week in the fall I saw the helicopter circle around. I starter hammering on it and saw the guy snapping pics. The photo I put up is a picture I took of the huge photo they sent me.

I do not have any small pics just the big ones they sent me. You should see the orginals I have hanging on my wall.

If anybody sees a boat pix helicopter flying around get on their website and find out if they took photos of their boat.

The price is high around 500 for 3 huge photos but whats the chance you will ever get photos from the sky again. My wife is just pissed she wasn't with me that day.

The pics below are pics I took of the pics hanging on my wall. I do not have any small ones to post. Its no easy taking a pic of a big photo. I was in the process of changing the checkmate name on the back with new ones i hate i did not have them on at the time

Yeah it's always the guy retaliating who gets the yellow flag for
unsportsmanlike conduct - I should know better by now - 40 yrs.
Perhaps I'll be labled a troll on this site - that is not my goal, but
I don't see losing much sleep over it! It truly is much ado about
nothing. Take a poke and shoot one back is the long n short of it!

However I must admit that I don't mind a bit of verbal sparring - lol..
No harm no foul, peace love and happiness to all - watch and see
the crap I get for that one - lol:p
