Heres one,a while ago camping with the nieces and nephews there must of been 30+ boats using 50 yards of beach all coming and going.Had a guy who planted a stake with apx 12 ft of FLOATING line with a float at the end. In the middle of all this. So I'm leaving the beach area pulling 2 tubes with 4 more kids in the boat.I'm getting on plane I look back and see this Idoits line snagged on my ladder. So I come back off plane retrieve the line, pull it on board circle back around and throw the whole thing back to where it was and go about my way!
I'll be honest I didn't know while I was circling around one of the kids un snapped the line from the stake. And I didn't notice when I threw it back.
But I thinking when the dude comes back and hooks to his anchor point he will give it a customary tug to make sure it was still a viable anchor point.I mean after leaving it for hours in those condtions it would be natural thing to do.And of coarse HE DID NOT!
Heres a hint: I use to do the same back in the day. But made sure my float was right above my anchor point and that my line would sink right there, not float in a 24' circle.
So anyway he comes back hooks up goes to his camper and realizes his boat is floating away.Someone must of seen my actions and tells him or he thinks I did it on purpose. So he chases me down wanting to kick my A$$.
Tells me I don't know first thing about boating!
I just pointed out he doesn't own the lake, who uses a freaking 12' floating line in that high traffic area,And to leave and come back hours later and not at least tug on your anchor line once. Then I told to F' off and went on my way.I still get worked up thinking about it!
Any thoughts!
