IMO running 50 miles is a little extreme, especially for all who are unfamillar with LC. Take a look at the west end of LC and let me know your opinion.

No matter what you do not everyone will be happy anyway!
There is no happy medium between them. Maybe if those bitching that we didn't run enough would have done the run, they would not complain. I have boated Cumberland for 25+ years now so I know the lake a little bit. The west end IMO is the rougher area of the water, the worst being the bend down from jamestown. So to center the run in that area, the smaller boats would get beat up a little bit. Now if we all had bigger boats, its nothing they can not handle:D

Brian, I do agree with you on the bend down from jamestown and its choppy waters. But as far as the main lake and the surrounding creeks are concerned the water is very predictable and unlike the narrow east end the waves dont ocellate off of the oposing shore plus there are many more coves and creeks to run in. I run the main lake all the time from indian creek to the dam to otter creek, beaver creek etc. and have for 30+ years with boats as small as a 15' alum bass tracker with no anxiety. An idea may be to find a nice long cove/creek and use that for a day of racing or run between a few and plan a heat of events for each stop. This way there is plenty of time for pix & vids, possibly hold a workshop on driving techniques;) get a chance to experience a ride along on other members boats, compare setups etc.. You and I should plan a time to meet up down here and run in the west end for a saturday and check out some of these coves and their potential. Theres plenty of time between now and say late october. Bring the wife and kids, plus the colors are kinda nice down here at that time.

Give him a buzz :bigthumb::bigthumb::bigthumb::bigthumb: Prob lots of drinking, no running, and friends just hanging out telling lies;)

Cool, I'll plan on being there sat morning. I'll call Barry to get the details.
No running ?????? Cool, more calm water for me to blast around in :D
Maybe I'll take you for a ride to indian & beaver creeks and show you some coves of intrest and where the sounds of pigs squeeling is
common.

BTW no lies on LC just legends of the KY bigfoot, loves lost and that lake monster everyones talking about.:rof:

Brian,,, Is there someone in the group that knows the lake that would be willing to do an about face at 25 miles for those who feel the water is getting to ruff? How big is that water? I run my little Jet in some pretty ruff stuff. I mean are we talkin' 2 ft., 3ft,. chop? Does it get any worse?
Do I have to come down there to show 'em how to handle some water? LOL Would like to come next year. Got a lot of Irons in the fire right now and will have to see how things work out.

Bob, I don't think you would have any problem with what the water throws at you. If it was to much, I will make sure you get back to the start point. The only place it gets real rough is around the bend at jamestown. It smooths back out as you go towards the dam.

I am going to run the entire lake next year. Anyone can join for the entire run or they can join in at any point. Its only 50 miles from one end to the other, running real easy, it can be done in well under 2 hours. No one will be left in the wake as I did this year. The faster boats that wanted to race would do some runs and circle back to join us again.

That sounds like a good idea, you need to put him in your boat and give him the grand tour of the west end!
