95 MPH ZT218? Or full of it?

Not that far up the road for me. I like it. Think it would look good in the garage. Got to find out what it is worth. Only a coupla hundred miles North. Wonder how much of a pain to bring vessel across the border.

I sold a boat to a nice gentleman from "north of the border". As I remember, he didn't have a problem with the boat, but he was abused on the trailer (CT is a no title state).

You are going the other direction, so I would imagine that your State laws apply. Maybe John L. could bring it down to you!:thumb:

All joking aside, it looks like a nice boat. Fast too!:rof:

i had the same problem when i sold my starflite to a guy from the great up north....we got it figured out eventually;) no probs with the boat it was the trailers fault:o

Yup, trailers are always the problem, they don't really care about the boat, no certificate of origin or title and it's a no go, for taking a boat north anyway, not sure about going south.

I have brought back 2 boats and had no problems with it, less that 15 mins at the border but I went through a broker and made sure everything was setup at the border before I even left home, I also had the titles sent by FedEx to me before I left home to make sure they were good and to get a copy to the broker, a bit of a pain in the butt but I've seen too many people stuck at the border forever trying to get something across, I know guy's that go get boats from the states all the time that just take there own trailer to get it because of the previous problems they've had.

I think it's pretty painless going south Jimway, because the boat was made in the USA you won't have to pay any tax taking it across the border where as we always have to pay the tax bringing stuff north.

Yup, trailer is the issue, but not a problem. Just needs a serial number and compliance sticker. I have imported at least a dozen boats and trailers into Canada.

I am so sick of stupid people who claim **** is what it aint. People get on here and bash the hell out of a active member who post GPS speed of his boat because of his prop slip. This guy is a total tool and smoking the crack pipe to think this would EVER run 95+. With Lots of boost, it would produce ~ 500 at the most. That power might push it to 80.....might.

BTW, he responded back and said its only the "dream-o-meter"

YF, I realize it is all specualtion on our parts cuz we aint got no reliable info, but do you think that boat would only do 80 with 500hp?

I realize that ACTUALLY MAKING A BOAT RUN 80MPH GPS is no walk in the park. But, I would think with that small a boat 500 would push it pretty good.

I also kind think it is funny that he said that was dream-o-meter speeds and took the mention of mph out of the add.

Imo, with 500hp, it should run 80+ unless the hull was a horrible design (appears to have a bravo drive also).

Hell, my 24 Super ran very close to 80 with under 500hp... and its an old hull design from 1967.

95mph?... no way.

1 thing about it is that hull is not very light for only being 22'. The prop size will answer the question and give a estimate on speed.

seems to me the stock exhaust is going to be very restrictive with the blower, plus trying to get the prop from blowing out without a nose cone trying to run those #'s.....thinking behind a duramax was the deal....:shakehead:

Must've been a Duramax, if it was a Cummins it would have been a whole lot faster. :)

John
At least there is one other smart one in the room.:thumb:

Can of worms- open.

I fail to understand why with todays technology and smart phone apps anyone would bother talking speed in boats unless its gps numbers. At least he did the right thing and take it off the ad.
