Radio tripping out....why ?

I have a 2100 pulsare it had an old tape deck that would cut out when volume was over about half way. So i swapped to a new more updated radio and speakers from Fusion (sweet package deal), thinking that was it and I wanted to upgrade anyways. The radio still cuts out....so I added another battery to play the radio all day and still be able to get home. The radio still cuts out also, when you trim or jack the motor it sounds like fast forward. Is there a special way to wire this? The + has always been attached to the 12V outlet, should the radio go straight to the battery ? Or am I missing something ?

Any help would be great.

Mike

Mines fused streight to the battery. This also reminds me to turn off my batteries when the boats not running.

I'm wonderin about a possible bad ground connection somewhere. Run a temporary ground wire from the negative post to the radio ground connection, and see if the radio starts workin right.

I agree, Had the same situtation with my amp, (the radio power ran thru amp). The ground was looped at the end and stacked with the other looped grounds(on the bottom of coarse) clean and tight under the butterfly nut it would still cutout. The ground cable to the battery had a acc. cable leading out from the clamp. So I dedacated that ground wire the amp ground and it cleared up the cuttingout.

I will run a temp ground this week.

I had the same problem with mine. When I first installed it I ran a 12 gauge power lead from the battery and used the stock ground that was in the boat when I got it, I ended up running a second 12 gauge for a ground and now the problem is gone.

Most electrical issues in boats are the ground. I have a distrubution block on my pos and neg battery terminal. Any add ons such as gps,Heated toilet seat, stereo stuff etc, go thru these blocks right to the batterys.
