'88 Starlliner... Anyone?

We need some rain to really get out over here. The ramp we used last time is useless. I can call a friend who lives on the main lake and we can probably use his if there's enough parking there.

If you're desperate to get it out come up here. There's no law enforcement out this early when the lake is high and with it this low you'll have the whole thing to yourself so no reg needed.

Are you advocating for illegal behavior MoFo? I'm so disappointed in you. Although I would do it in a heartbeat.
For the record-pulled a 73.4 0n a Laser25 last weekend. Not bad for an ancient geezer. 1/2 tank gas and screechy wife. Probably good for another 2. OK holeshot (2 lightweights) crappy cornering-3blade. 1.5 ft chop. Delaware between Trenton and Burlington.
Far prefer 4 blades.
I'm tellin' Mom on you.

You're on Sim.
I just need to get the paperwork sorted at the dmv in the week.
Shouldn't be too bad. Jersey has actually gotten human. Wait till we make the Hudson!
Congrats! So many new babies! Parents still on this side of the pond?

What an adventure you seem to have had! Can't wait to hear of it further.

(I can't seem to find the desire to sleep yet!)

So a funny thing happened as I was trundling down I81 late last night.
I had just spoken to Mandy for the last time before she went asleep, and I put on some music from Jamiroquai (a British funk artist) and cranked the volume to the max in the car.
So I'm screaming along to the music for a few songs, then I decide to check something on my phone....then I notice there's a call going on for over 14mins......

So I hang up straight away and see that the number was in my local area at home.
I couldn't think who it might of been but I obviously had called them earlier in the week as I accidentally hit the number after hanging up with the Missus.

So I ring back the number to see who answers.....

It was the local Police station! :o

I had called them the other day to find out if I had to report my lost trailer plate (had to replace it before yesterday so I could bring one).

I never got a call back to consider 'Cop Idol', so I assume their automated answering system doesn't have a default number to be forwarded to if you don't choose a menu option! :rof:

I proceeded to scream with various other artists to keep myself awake for the 24hrs......I think that's the reason why I can't sleep now....my brain is waiting for the next album! :p

Parents went back 2 weeks ago.
Had a great time with them. Seeing them in July/August when we go home for the first time in 18mths for 4wks.
I'm going to miss the Starliner that month :( although I'll be meeting up with the club back there once or twice on the water.

John -

So is there enough water for a spin on the lake right now?
I thought from the article I saw online the other day it was near empty?

This is the point at which I disavow all personal knowledge,
Who is this?
Go to sleep!

There is, just have to stay on "my" half of the lake. Hopefully Sim doesn't narc us out. If you want to head out give me a call, we wouldn't want to tip Sim off. :)

Sim,

That is impressive speed for anyone in that hull with that power, especially an old dude. :) I never underestimate the ability of an old guy to go fast, they have years of practice.

Someone's testy and it ain't me. Call the Captain, maybe he'll dial the Greenwood Lake PD for you so you can narc on Kris. :D You want me to send ya the number? :poke:

All tucked up in bed after a quick trip to Costco this afternoon.

Now I REALLY have to get that house for her with the double garage (for me)! ;)

Kris, how much was that carport and how do you think it would hold up in a windstorm?
By the way, welcome back and congratulations. When are you going out?

$4800 after I pointed out a speck of fly poo on the windshield ;-)

Man....the more I look at this boat the better your deal gets. I am now going to refer to your boat as "The Screamin'-est Effin Deal Ever".

My boat is soooooooo far away from that...:brickwall:

What kind of trailer is that...the boat looks great sittin' on your trailer.

Sim/Sam.....

Sim - $225 it cost me.
I have 3 sets of heavy lumps of wood (about 6x6 and ~3ft long bolted together in pairs). Someone had them as a kids swingset base, and was throwing them out last week......I grabbed them from the kerb one night once I knew I was going for this.
I'll secure each one to each corner (and concrete blocks to the last corner).

I've also tied the frame to the boat trailer at each corner, so if it's going to fly, its taking the boat too.

Without securing it, a moderate gust could easily move it I think.

It came with bolts to set in the concrete driveway, but I'm going to wait a while before I use them in case the landlord gets picky (he already wants a spin in it ;)).

Hoping to maybe get out next Saturday afternoon for a few hours.....busy until lunch elsewhere. Not decided where. Greenwood might be worth the trip for an empty (half-)lake. Interested?

Thanks Sam - It's a CC Rider trailer (North Carolina?)
It's a pretty sexy rig alright. It looks like they did the pinstriping on it and the chrome wheels for the show it was sold at in 1988.

I'll get some close up pics once I have the boat polished in the next week.

Huh...I googled C.C.Rider Boat Trailers and got nothing, which is why I asked. I saw the sticker, but figured it had to be something else when it turned up negative. Thanks.
