re riggin the 2800sx....

Thanks. Gonna have to look into that. Need something low profile like that if I have any hope of making the tubes work on my OMC.

they were adapters to connect two different size hoses. I cut the one end off flush and cut the other end where I needed. had 4 holes for mounting so it worked.

lil update:

removed both oil reservoirs and the associated rigging from the boat that went along with the oil injection from the promax engines....(any ideas on emptying the fuel tank or figuring out how much fuel is in the tank so i can premix???)

got both lower disassembled and went through ....all was well (had to replace one driveshaft but knew that when i bought them) new impellers and oil was it. pressure tested fine. now that they are on the boat i can refinish: paint flaking off and filler cracking form where the cones were installed.

also fired both engines yesterday......let em idle for a bit. seemed to run great and fired right up. gonna install new plugs today.

gotta figure out where to pick up the water for pressure gauges and water temp.......any suggestions????

hopefully will be testing soon.....

Suggestion on the premix deal. Do you know the tank's capacity? Dump the appropriate amount of oil in and top it off.

yeah...thats the best i could really come up with outside of completely pumping the tank.....its a 100 gallon tank....

how many ounces per gallon should the oil be mixed for a 2.4L 200????

I run my 2.4 200 at close to 36:1 but merc called for 50:1 on them. I run my hard and well above 6k rpm most all of the time it is in the water so im not worried about fouling plugs. But i would for sure stay on th heavy side of 50:1 for the first tank to be on the safe side!

There are fittings on the top of the blocks (behind the heads) for water pressure fittings. There should be a removable plug in the block that can be replaced with a brass pipe fitting with a nipple for the water pressure lines. There should also be water temp senders on the blocks that the guages wires up to....

thanks guys!

i will def run it a little fat to begin with.....

i checked out the top of the block and sure enough...the water ports are already there,,,,,saw em when i was installing them and didnt know what i was lookin at. lol

the temp senders are in the heads...correct? its a little plug with a wire comin out of it.....the wire lead runs to a junction .....can i just tap my temp sender in there? or????????

ports for the water pressure are at the top of the block. one had the sender in the top for water temp, depends on what you want to monitor. you will have to get senders and put them on left cylinder head if you want head temp. right is for overheating alarm.

I mixed them at 50 to 1. never had a problem with it. never really spun them over 6k either though.

Max, run the motors at 50/1 with a synthetic blend oil. My boat has a 96 gallon fuel tank. You may need a torch to get the plugs out of the top of the blocks if they've never been removed.

thanks for the info guys!

got the water pressure gauges plumbed, props on, and started fairing out the lowers for paint.....

Demage was nice enough to send the shifter arms to me free of charge...shipping only! thanks bro!

now i just have to install the arms and get 4 relays in order to wire up the trim controls and it'll be test time....

update......

race bolster is out.....
drop out bolsters are in.....
controls are relocated....
tank has been pre mixed.....

ran em on the hose today and they did well it seemed....had a couple lil water leaks i fixed....other than that they look ready. waitin on the pair of trim harnesses i bought on ebay to get here and then it should be time to test.

I've seen the pictures!!
Maybe I'll post them tonight for Max!!:thumb:

Between me, 2tonChevy and Bravo 1 there will be some bad azz 2800SX ouboards running around!!!:bigthumb:

I just realized that the pics you sent over to me were with the drop out bolsters. you will like that so much better. looks good, how did you relocate the controls.
