Chesapeake Bash 2013 - June 7-10

Hey guys,
How many of you would like an arial photo of your boat?

I've been talking to the BoatPix guys that do the helicopter photos and they are willing to make some arrangments with us. They keep a chopper right there at the bay bridge airport so there flight costs will be low. They dont charge for coming out just make money off pictures they sell. So I'm just felling to see if any of you think you would buy before we get something final.

Let me know if and interest.

any idea what the cost of the pics are?

I dealt with them a few years ago and remember them not being cheap.
I think a 16x20 was $200 and then up from there. Theres no obligation to buy. The only charge is $25 to see the pictures as they only will mail you the pics and you keep what you want and return what you dont so you have to pay the return shipping. Theres no online veiwing because the qauility of the pictures dont show online nearly as well as seeing the real deal. I can say the qauility is the best ive ever seen from the ones i got.

I just heard back from them and are to go. They want us to pick a time for them to fly over on Sunday. I responded I would let them know as soon as I hear back from the majority if it will be worth there time. So if any ones wants a picture we can do it. Just need to let them know in the next couple days.

ok Deals done,
There will be a chopper flying over at 1pm on June 9th Sunday. There not concerned with number of buyers. They say " thats what they do, take picuters of boats". Plan is to have a group shot set up at 1 for them and then guys can take runs getting single shots. No obligations, just if you want too. The guys are real easy going if any one has any requests. Basically I was told they fly every Sunday and if theres something going on their there.

I checked their site out yesterday for pricing. Looks like $250 for the 16"x20" print (digital copies are $500 I think).

I would be interested in seeing some pics from that day of the boats (and hopefully a smiling Knarloid crew). They always have great quality shots from what I see posted on other sites.
If anything the kids (big and small amongst us) should enjoy the chopper buzzing by for a few minutes.

I will have to get the GoPro angled up to get the chopper in shot as we run.

A Oh! is there a pilot in the bunch?

You know the only person quicker to tell you who he is then a fireman is, a U M grad, and only person quicker then a U M grad, is a pilot!

For $200 I might be intrested, I know the the boat will look good, I know my date will look good (both take fantastic pictures) I'm the one I'm worried about. I always come out looking like Forrest Gump in pictures ( slack jawed tongue hanging with the eyes closed ) even at 300 ft. I'll ruin it!

 :surf:  :surf:  :banana:next morning :shakehead: :eyecrazy: :shakehead: :surf:  :surf:

They got me over the summer and I bought one. They sent out 3 pics, I kept one for $250, all 3 would be $750 and then the digital ones are $500. They had some great shots, so it was worth it.

I def want another with my boat all shiny and not with the NY registration number...guys always picked on my boat because I didn't change it to MD right away!
