Where has your checkmate been?

wired

Well-known member
I am in the odd position of knowing everywhere my 'mate has been dipped in the last 32 years.

South Carolina
Florida
Georgia
North Carolina
Kentucky
Tennessee
Ohio
Texas
California
Washington
Oregon
Missouri
Arkansas
Alabama
Nevada

I have only been married to this one 7 years so not sure where all she got
dipped before me and probably don't wanna know, or did you mean
the boat.

Mine has been dipped in Sask and that's it, same lake for the last 23 years, I remember the first year well, I stood on the dock drooling over our neighbours brand new Checkmate and dreamed that it was mine, told my parents that I would own a boat like that one day and they laughed, little did they know that I was serious, I have a feeling that it will be staying at the same lake for a few more years.

Michigan for 20 years . 18 years with the original owner who took it to Minnesota a couple times. Will be running in Ohio and Kentucky very soon.:):)

My boat was sold new to a guy in Charleston SC. It went from there to Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Nevada, then Georgia where I found it. Its back in South Carolina now and I've had it in Fontana lake and Lake Jordan in North Carolina. Real cool when I got the origional numbers that were issued for the boat from SCDNR.

I met the original owner here in NJ and bought from the second owner (who trashed the boat) who happened to be the neighbor. They only told of Jersey Shore water splashing.

As for me I have splashed at the Jersey Shore and St. Lawerence River
(NY and Ontario, Canada) waters.

Its Been a few yrs since I traveled with it but I have trailered it to,

Lake Cumberland, KY. 1/2 dozen times
Lake of the Ozarkes MO. once
Fox chain of lakes IL & WS border. once
Orlando FL. once
Lake Havasue CF & NV border. once
Lake Wunamucka (or something) 3 hrs north of Toronto ON. once
My Favorite spot, Topermory ON. at the end of the Bruce pennisula (see picture below) twice.
Several trips to bucyus OH. for open house, then to Sandusky Bay & lake Erie & the islands.
About 2 dozen trips to the great northern lakes and bays of Michigan.

Looking to add the east coast in June!

The Don't ask...Don't tell system is good for more than the military. She certainly doesnt want to know my history and I don't think she has one :).

I'm jealous of where you and your 'mate have been.

ehh if the map of the world was hanging on the wall, the US and Canada is the only blank spot.

and moskow with some eastern parts of europe. the most i did in the Navy.
that's because these parts of the world was my colleque responsible for.
those visit's was short stay less than 36 hours. fix the millenium bug in the computer of the ambassy with some update's in salary software.
the stupid thing was afterwards we heard that that bug wasn't a problem at all. so 70 percent of the work was not necesarry.
