The Darkness!

It seems to have settled on the back of my boat.

First my white mota went missing:

Then this turned up on the back:

Some gratuitous pics of the ridiculousness in the pole barn we did the swap in:

Been beating up on it this weekend. Installed and wired 99% of the new harness, ran the new cables, installed a rigging tube, just need to hook up the power off the key to run some of the gauges, connect the tach, mount the oil tank, and I should be able to fire it in the next day or two. Waiting for the steering to show up and then I can put the interior back in it. If the steering won't be here by the weekend I'll just hook the dual cable up and call it good for now. Keeping my fingers crossed I did all the wiring right and it fires right up when I turn the key.

Whats the older white boat? Is it a sutphen? looks like a boat i rode in a few times back when I was younger.

Congrats John, it looks mighty nice on there. And that one boat does look like a Sutphen. I love that old school cool.

I wish I had a pole barn like that as well. LOL on the wiper Nathan, we tacked one cable from my dual cable on there to hold the motor in place for the ride home, the other cable is stuffed inside the wiper package to keep it from greasing up the whole splashwell. Hydraulic should be here this week but if not I'll hook up the second cable to run it while I wait for the new set up to arrive.

The older looking white boat is in fact a 30' Sutphen with triples on it. I'm very thankful to have such a generous friend that was willing to lend his time and equipment to make it a relatively easy job to swap the motors. He has an old Laser with a Looper on it that we pulled out to do my motor and I wish I had snapped a pic of that one because it's so cool and old school with the blue flake and all. That one is actually my favorite of the 4.

Looks great, can't wait to see it next weekend!
You know the old saying about "Once you go Merc".......?

You'll always be broke?
Wow, hadn't thought of that one.

You'll feel like a jerk?
Or that one either.
The sad part is I can relate to both of them. :shakehead:
If we could ever figure out how to delete our old posts I reckon about a third of this website would up and disappear overnight.
BTW- This is my 3000th post.
At least 1000 of them would disappear if I knew how. Maybe more.
(C'mon Keith, you know what I'm talking about.)
