My 253 is for sale

Good luck with the sale. What are you thinking about for the new one?

It really depends. I am buying a cruiser, just don't know what yet. I would like to stay on my current 35' dock and wouldn't mind something around 33' that had a trailer so I could pull it out in the winter and dry store it.

However, if I sell mine before I buy something else I might just go ahead and buy something bigger that would keep longer and just make the move down to I dock (45' slips).

I have a lot of great friends on both docks and we all hang out together all the time anyways it just depends.

But I am currently looking at a 2000 Cruisers Yachts 3375 and I am also looking at a 2005 Searay 360 Sundancer. The Cruisers 3375 I can buy regardless, the Searay I would really want to sell my Checkmate first.

I am buying a new boat and this boat will go so if anyone knows anybody that might be in the market...

Well, I hope he finds it as nice as I think he will. If he is disappointed I will be SHOCKED to say the least. Everyone who sees it is impressed with how clean it is, the overall condition and maintenance, and specifically the condition of the gelcoat. This '96 shines as well as a brand new one.
It is as clean as can be and runs great.

Yes it was me coming to buy the boat Saturday had agreed on a price of 22000.00 If the boat and trailer was in shape as said. Had talked several times during this week... and asked if he wanted cash or certified check. Called a day later to ask about trailer ball size and wiring.. Also talked about paper work... All good ... Told him I was leaving friday after work,,, drive till I got tired and then spend the night and meet him saturday... Its only 726 miles... All good.. Got Randy a certified check as he asked ,,, Got boat insurance for 25 grand... Again I asked are we good till Saturday and he said yes....

THEN HOLLY CHIT I GET A CALL TONIGHT,,, I"m SORRY BRO I SOLD THE BOAT OUT FROM UNDER YOU...

We both had a mans word together as a agreement.. And he said we were good till Saturday...

Dang life goes on my fault I know better when stuff goes up for sale act fast or be the sucker sitting on the bank..:bigthumb:

Disappointing for sure, but it seems Checkmare sold a lot of 253's so you should be able to find another that meets your standards, in colors you like, for a price that makes you happy.

I have a 97 253 for sale also...25K..pics under my user name ..Havent even started yet this year...hopefully get started this week...

Wow, that sux:(
Wonder if there was a better offer

Pretty hard to turn down a sale to someone standing in front of you with money, to wait for someone else who said they would buy it if it is as good as it's suppose to be. Offer could have been higher too. You could tell the guy with money he has to wait till after Saturday for this other offer to run its course, but you could end up with no sale to either guy.

I Agree, but when they were talking, the seller should have told him that if someone comes up with cash that they would be first in line.

But the seller should have at LEAST called him and told him BEFORE he sold and given him an opportunity to work something out.

Agree. If there was a deal in place, it was a deal. The seller told the buyer the deal was good until Saturday. The seller should have indicated he would still be accepting higher offers. Then he should have given the first buyer the opportunity to match (or better) the offer.

However: Having sold cars and boats on Craig's List there are a bunch of 'no show', tire kickers, and people looking for rides/test drives. Money talks, BS walks.

The last vehicle I sold (on a forum classified) was my 2009 Sky Redline.

The buyer was out of state. I instructed him that I would need certified check from either Chase or Bank of America (both banks I have accounts with). Or cash. He brought me cash:
