    I have had way to many bad experiences at the landing the past couple weeks, so I just want to vent.. The last three times I've gone out I have had someone walk down the ramp while I am unstrapping the boat, with kids/dogs to let them play in the water in the lane I am using. One guy was there...

    As a rule of thumb, you don't your rooster tail higher than your engine cowling on an OB. Any higher and it is just wasted propulsion.. This may be different on an sterndrive? But I would still imagine the same physics are in play and that downward force isn't going to move you forward faster...
