I got the boat last October and I have not moved the motor from the position it was mounted in. The mounting bolts are in the top holes on the brackets. 1989 Johnson 200 HP Questions
I have an '84 Diplomat with a 140 Evinrude on it. I bought an '89 Johnson 200 HP J200TXCEA with the intention of re powering the 'Dip with it. One bad thing, it is a 25" shaft. If you ran 1x1 angles (or whatever size) on the long sides and rivet them to the other angles it would tie it all together as one solid frame.
