Proper Starting - I didn't think I was an idiot, but I just may be!

I pump it while turning it over, if i do choke it it fires in a couple of revolutions. I will also state that the carbs on my motor haven't been touched or cleaned in over ten years and it will idle in gear at about 850-900rpms all day then jump on plane without hesitation. L6 like thier carbs...

Proper Starting - I didn't think I was an idiot, but I just may be!

First i wouldn't use quickstart in any of my 2strokes it's no safer to use on your motor than any other. My L6 start with no real problems at all. As stated leave motor trimmed either level or abit up, prime bulb till hard and a little squirt and give your throttle a little pump while turning...

    Cheap Predictor couldn't say no.

Look to be a good project. Your steering is no a performance setup so if your planning any HP be aware of that. Good luck with your build.

Merc Inline '81 and up 115s and older 150s

One prop size in general will knock off about 200rpm's. Unless he's owned the boat since new you don't know if it spent it whole life in the water and is wet and heavy. Also your prop could be bigger than stamped or his could be smaller than stamped there are about 100 things that could cause...

Merc Inline '81 and up 115s and older 150s

As stated it's all in the setup and of course the condition of the boat.

Merc Inline '81 and up 115s and older 150s

Actually pre84 115's are only 90 they are about 115 at the crank the newer ones would be the same as a 140 which was essentially a rebadged 150. That being said first you need a tach so you can truly setup your boat 2% is usually tough to achieve. Inline will spin if you set them up too.

    Pulsare HP suggestions

The 300X ranges between 480-504 depending on which model you buy/bought.

Why do you want to use so many layers of mat? Mat is used basicly for 2 things 1st is to help prevent printthrough and second is to put thickness into a laminate. It is nowhere a structurally sound as cloth and itr takes twice as much resin as cloth.

Does a BAJA mold make a good CHECKMATE

Brunswick corp does NOT own Fountain it is wholly owned by Fountainn Powerboats Inc. If Brunswick owned they would have just transferred Baha to NC as they owned Baha.

That's too deep for those props.

    Reed's 1979 Trimate 2

Both Cleavers and Choppers are designed to be surfaced, i would leave your motor where it's at and try a big chopper it'll suck outta the hole but should net you decent numbers if you can spin it.

    89 Mercury Bridgeport 240hp

They're great motors hell the lower is worth half the asking price. There's also lots of stuff you can do down the road if so desired to go faster. They are a chrome bore motor so ask if it has any sleeves, it's not aproblem if it does as that the normal repair it's just nice to know for later...

Leave battery in or take out ?

Either way won't bother them to much , and yes the concrete thing is a myth it will not dicharge a battery any quicker than anything else.
